While i struggle with my ill-discipline in doing assignment, stubbornness to rest from sports despite injuries, reluctance to keep away from junk food, and elaborated decisions and deliberations on my marital / engagement / relationship issues, i came upon a question.

What defines me as a Man.

An Alpha-male?
A Metrosexual?
A Retrosexual?
A SNAG?
A SNOG?
A Bastard?
An Ass-hole?

While i struggle on this issue, i would like to bring all readers into something i have came across... Enjoy this 5 part series of I am a Modern Man.

Sorry, still rather busy with school work.
Will still be for the next ten over days.
Meantime, there will space fillers to keep readers entertained.
Things should be back to normal after the second week of June though.

Here's a Joke to start off.

Marriage...

-Before marriage , a man yearns for the woman he loves. After marriage, the "y" becomes silent.
-A husband said to his wife, "No, I don't hate your relatives. In fact, I like your mother-in-law better than I like mine."
-The honeymoon is over when the husband calls home to say he'll be late for dinner and the answering machine says it is in the microwave.
-Men who have pierced ears are better prepared for marriage. They've experienced pain and bought jewelry.
-How do most men define marriage? A very expensive way to get your laundry done.
-A man meets a genie. The genie tells him he can have whatever he wants provided that his mother-in-law gets double. The man thinks for a moment and then says, "OK, give me a million dollars and beat me half to death."
-A little boy asked his father, "Daddy, how much does it cost to get married?" And the father replied, "I don't know, son, I'm still paying for it."
-A man said his credit card was stolen but he decided not to report it because the thief was spending less than his wife did.
-Love is blind but marriage is an eye-opener.
-The most effective way to remember your wife's birthday is to forget it once.
-Cosmetics: A woman's way of keeping a man from reading between the lines.
-Words to live by: Do not argue with a spouse who is packing your parachute.
-Boring husband: Honey, why are you wearing your wedding ring on the wrong finger? Bored wife: Because I married the wrong man!
-First Guy (proudly): "My wife's an angel!" Second Guy: "You're lucky, mine's still alive."
-Marriage is grand -- and divorce is at least 100 grand.
-Married life is very frustrating. In the first year of marriage, the man speaks and the woman listens. In the second year, the woman speaks and the man listens. In the third year, they both speak and the neighbors listen.
-Before marriage, a man will lie awake all night thinking about something you say. After marriage, he will fall asleep before you finish.

The guy above is no Barcelona Fan.
In fact, he will be officiating the UEFA Champions League Final as one of the 2 Assistant Referee.
Ole Hermann Borgan, 41, posed in Barcelona's red and blue striped shirt for Tuesday's edition of Norwegian newspaper Drammens Tidende. (Idiot)

"It was both thoughtless and stupid of me", "I didn't think the situation and consequences through when I was asked to put on the shirt." and he also added that "posing for pictures in the shirt would not influence my judgement in Wednesday's final in Paris". Right.... (Idiot)

Anyway, the next couple of days, i will be rather busy... so i will not be updating the blog until after the weekend.

Liverpool FC 3 - West Ham United 3 (Full Time)
Penalty shootout: 3-1

FA Cup Winners 2006 : Liverpool FC

It was probably the best FA Cup final you have ever seen for a long time. Yes, the Liverpool hopefuls were very much optimistic throughout the match. Be it in the Pubs, at home, or like me, at the neighbourhood kopitiam, we were all praying for the equaliser. Finally it came, from none other than Steven Gerrard's 35m screamer into the top left corner.

Extra time saw many players experiencing cramps, and it seems destined that the match would be settled by penalties.Once Reina saved his second penalty, it was clear that Liverpool has survived the challenge of West Ham in their quest to winning their seventh FA Cup.

While Pool fans enjoy the win, we should not forget that West Ham gave us a hell-of-a-time. Unsung West Hammers, such as skipper Nigel Reo-Coker, chief tormentor Yossi Benayoun, strike force partners of Dean Ashton and Marlon Harewood gave Liverpool plenty of problems during the match, and must be praised for their efforts.

Courtesy of Youtube, i would like to bring you the 2 following footages of the magnificant match last night. Enjoy, and let's celebrate, Liverpool style...

on a rather cloudy and rainy Tuesday...

went to the latest, possibly more Hip-to-be place in Town. it's none other than THE CATHAY. met with my buddy KK, for the screening of Mission Impossible III. The place is indeed impressive. the architectural beauty of the place is one to behold, while the staffs were probably th e friendliest i have encounter for a long while.

the movie turned out Great, though i am still trying to figure the whole storyline, it gets a little confusing when the story-writer adds one too many twists. the 3 female actress gave brilliant performances, while Tom Cruise was at his very best, charming, cool and at tip-top physical conditions. the stunts were fantastic also...

while i misbehaved again, as seen above (people are staring by the way..)

The Cathay should be fully ready for operations in 1 to 2 months times. Personally, it is likely to become my new hangout place, with the BEN n JERRY cafe and ADIDAS concept store there, what's more can i ask for...

Signing off... ...

From last night's rally...listen to the background conversation between the camera man & his assistant. Listen Carefully!

7 Essential Habits/Items of the Street- smart Singaporean attending an OPPOSITION PARTY ELECTION RALLY.

Point 1:
Since most of the venues available to the Opposition Party are grass patches, and the raining season has caused most fields to be badly flooded. Therefore, one can never wear a pair of sports shoes or leather shoes to such a location. Slippers and Sandals is the preferred choice. The muddy field is not the best path to walk on, let alone stand on for 3 hours. Slippers get stuck on the grounds as well. Please practice walking before attending.

Point 2:
Go there in simple clothing, cheap ones if possible. Leave your Nike, Billabong, Armani at home. Wear your Hang Ten and Giordano. Your clothes are bound to get dirty from walking on the waterlogged fields. Bags are also not encouraged. Plastic bags are good enough.

Point 3:
Bring along any cameras or video camcorders to take photographs and videos of the engaging and interesting snippets at these rallies. It happens only once every 5 years. Capture the moment.

Point 4:
Recce the area you are going before hand. Where is the nearest makan place, where is the nearest multi-storey carparks, as well as the nearest bus stops and MRT stations around. Transportation before and after the rallies are always packed. Knowing the short-cuts will be the best case scenario. Also, leave the venue between 2145 to 2155. Because you do not want to be stuck in human traffic jams.

Point 5:
Please bring along items such as a water bottle to quench your thirst for all the shouting you will be doing. Tidbits are also helpful, when the speeches gets boring, you at least have something in your mouth to chew. Remember to retain the plastic bag you brought along.

Point 6:
Bring along coins, preferably 20 cents if you have a few.

Point 7:
Combine Point 5, 6 & 7. At the end of the rally, head to the nearest carpark, insert the 20 cents into the automatic water machines, contain the water in the water bottles and clean up before heading home. Throw away all rubbish at the end of the rally.

The above is a comprehensive guide to attending a political rally in Singapore.

Laugh your heads off man...

This has been a long, meaningful weekend.

Saturday was spent watching football at my hometown kopitiam. Paying a reasonable price for the drinks and food, it was a rather enjoyable evening spent watching live football on a big TV screen. The Chelsea match was an eventful one, and it couldn’t have gotten any better. With the majority of the punters presented rooting for Man Utd, who has the better odds, Champions-to-be Chelsea rose to the occasion. Rooney’s injuries only added insult to injury, with his World Cup hopes in jeopardy.

The Liverpool match was to follow, and I enjoyed the sweet victory, and got a little cash from my investments, though there is still a loss overall on Saturday. As the Chinese says, 小赌小赢, 大赌大输, the money gave me the excitement to keep me involved during the matches.

Sunday was spent, back at Nanyang JC Council Camp 06. It’s the first time I was back to the fully completed campus, and I must say that the compound looks really great. Got some hurtful comments from a former teacher of mine, who said that I looked a little FAT, just a little. So I had to show her my toned biceps and flabby tummy. Succeeded I did. Convinced her I did not.

Unknowingly, I kinda feel old amongst the rest of the seniors presented. At 22, I am considered an elderly citizen, although my own senior batch had 4 presented also. I feel a little envious about what my juniors are getting. The kind of facilities, the walkie talkies, as well as the kind teachers in charge, were very different from what I had experienced in the past.

The enjoyable part of the programme, were the Contests held by the camp committee, as well as the Couple Dance passed down from our seniors. It really brought back the memories. If I am not wrong, it originated from the 18th batch of NYJC SC. Being the sole representative from the 24th SC, less Edmund who was there probably to drop by for his PR sessions, I was a little lonely. The 25th were a batch I really took care of back then, so I got to mix pretty well with them. Had a nice dinner / supper session with them, and I got to say, someone in particular, really attracted & mesmerized me in a nice way…

Looking forward to my Labour Day activities. Probably I got to visit my Grandma first, before dropping by to listen to a political rally before resuming school on Tuesday. Since I am not voting this time round, I should at least listen to what politicians are promising the people this election. Empty or real promises, we shall judge ourselves. Also, it’s only once every 5 years that we get to hear our leaders speak broken English, with dialects very much the order of the day.

Happy Labour Day Singapore, and spend your Progress Package well. Not just to get a new handphone or buy 4D. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

(the next entry, i shall post some photos)
