This is a remainder: All Singapore Citizens, aged 21 and above, please start to follow all the necessary procedures to claim your Progress Package, as announced by our Prime Minister Lee during his Budget 2006 speech.

Because, the CPF Board has already send the notification post, to your mail address.

Failure to cash in on your Progress Package will make you look extremely Dumb…since everyone is getting a minimum amount of at least $200.

I have gotten my letter, felt grateful for the Government, and would like to thank them for solving my recent financial difficulties. Anyway, in view of the up-coming elections, it’s also time for all adult Singaporeans to do their part, and play an active role in voting for your Member of Parliament.

On this note, the author would be signing off……if you are wondering how much Ang Pow I’ve gotten, well, it’s adequate.

As a Coffee-addict, I am deeply concerned with the current Price hike of coffee.

The recent price increase of coffee beans, has caused a frenzy rush of coffee shops pushing the prices up for coffee in Singapore. For a regular cup of Kopi-O (aka coffee with sugar, without milk), current market price stands at about 80 cents. Most resource owners are still adopting the wait-and-see attitude, many choosing to keep prices at 70 cents and below. Amongst the minority, there seems to be some rumour that certain “higher-end” kopitiam are charging up to 90 cents a cup.

However, in light of all these unhappy situations, some are using humour to inform the public, about the need to increase coffee prices, in order to sustain their business.

But, we have forgotten a group of people, those consumers who patron coffee joints like Starbucks and Coffee Bean. Why they are not Complaining??????? Simple…Coffee there already cost so much, what’s 10 cents and 20 cents.

Therefore, the solution is simple, Cut down on your Coffee intake.

But, For me, it’s unlikely in the short run…that I can give up on my Kopi-C and Latte…a man's gotten have his coffee.

a typical Singapore Pools betting ticket,
actually it's mine. (but the prediction is wrong)

Since turning 18, I’m 22 already…so it’s been 4 years, I have been betting soccer (both legally and illegally).

Primarily…it is so as to inject more excitement while watching a match.
Secondary …I can make some money out of it.
Thirdly…I want to test my wits, whether my predictions matches with the final result of the soccer matches

Anyway, there are always good times and bad times. I have probably not made any real profits in the long run…since I am a small time player, with bets not exceeding $5 per tickets at Singapore Pools. I can control myself, and I dun have much money.

Anyway, I recorded my biggest win in 4 years recently…an original bet of 4 X $5 tickets brought a total of $99 return. That’s $79 profits. My bets then…shall remain a secret to all readers.

Anyway, what’s more amazing was the next material I would like to share with you.

A British bloke actually predicted the following for the FA Cup Quarter-final match between Liverpool and Birmingham City.

There would be a goal in the first minute.
3 goals in the first half.
4 goals in the second half.
The sixth would be an own goal.
Djibril Cisse would score very late on.
He suggested the deadlock would be broken by Xabi Alonso with a 40-yard strike after 38 seconds.

If you’re a soccer fan, you would have known that out of the 6 predictions, this mysterious punter has gotten the first 4 correct. Prediction 5 is partially correct as well, because Djibril Cisse’s shot was a deflection. The man would have pocketed a fortune from the British bookmakers.

Well, good luck to all punters for the remaining of the Soccer betting season. With the World Cup about 2 months away, there's plenty of betting ahead. For me, it's back to the drawing board, to formulate this weekend's predictions.

Good Luck to me, pray for me, let me know, and i will, treat u dinner...if i win money.

Located in the heart of the heartlands…the HDBHub, has this little shop offering massages, which I rate very highly. The name: Kohong Health Products & Foot-Reflexology Centre (高峰脚底保健中心).

Writer’s note: this is just a recommendation, by no means this is an advertisement.

Well, let’s move on.
It’s been a very long time since I have had a proper massage, let alone a good massage. For the heavy shoulders and strained lower back pains I have been having since the examination period, it’s about time to have a good massage. (PS. No special services available here, u should know what I mean / 先生, 要特别服务吗?). The masseur did the most brilliant job, hitting the right pressure points, applying the adequate strength at the correct positions. Brilliant. Fantastic. Rejuvenating to say the least.

We had a great conversation, if not, the 40mins session would seems too boring, with a radio playing poor standard of music in the background, mixed with aunties comparing their 4D ticket numbers at the adjacent side of the centre.

What was appalling, was the part when we talked about the rental fees of the shop spaces at the HDBHub. Do you know, that Breadtalk pays $40000, and a food court stall pays $15000 for their rental every month. Yes. Every month. Ridiculous. Rubbish. Unreasonable. How much bread does Breadtalk / How many bowls of noodles does the stall needs to sell everyday? Do the Maths…
As the massage ended, it’s time to head home…just as I’m ending this post. I shall leave you with a suggestive thought for the day then… the masseur was pressing his strong hands on different positions of my butt, with me in an upright sitting position…kinky…to say the least. Let your imagination run wild, my friends.

Good day, ladies and gentlemen. PLEASE, spare me 5 minutes of your precious time, to allow me to share a movie review - Nanny Mcphee. Thank you very much for your kind attention. Let's beginning, shall we?

Polite, too formal, with some British flair and humour.
well, in the nutshell, that's what the movie- Nanny Mcphee brings to audience.

since a great friend of mine invited me on a movie date, on a ever-so-boring day during vacation time, it was about time to catch a movie at last. in order to preserve my youth, the choice was made, to watch a Children's movie, rather than teen/adult/horror/.... movies available.

it proves even more awkward in the theatre, as i realised that minus the lady who brought her kids to the movies, i was probably the oldest teen / youngest adult around. Awkward indeed. trailers shown were all for up-coming animation feature films, all 5 of them... am i at the wrong theatre???

anyway, the movie turned out surprisingly enjoyable from the start to the end. a classic fairy-tale to say the least. characters were nicely protrayed, such as Emma Thompson as Nanny McPhee, Colin Firth as Mr Brown and Kelly MacDonald as Evangeline. The magical touches from Nanny Mcphee deserved praise, while the comic timing at times were on-the-spot-on. Special mentions includes Nanny Mcphee's sudden appearance, followed by the trademark : "i did knocked...", the "eating the baby (i think her name is Christianna) incident that scared away Nanny Whetstone".

standard fairy-tale ending like the marriage is artistically done, making the female audience within the theatre all suddenly dreaming about their own wedding (yes, i have ears, i've heard the comments). Commendable performances by the child actors in the moviem includes Thomas Sangster as Simon, the eldest son of the Mr Brown, the leader of the 7 children, a clever / witty / little prankster.

anyway, catch the movie if you can, well, you should...

and before i go, this point isn't necessary, but i've to say it anyway... actress Celia Imrie protrayal as Mrs Quickly looks very much as a old prostitute...i've said it...old prostitute.

Good day.

Went out for a while yesterday afternoon, trying to look for a temp job. Despite the efforts, there wasn’t any vacancies to begin with…ironic. Spent the next couple of minutes loitering around (though I will not be affected by any curfew / I’m way pass the under-16 ruling / and it was still broad daylight), and made my way back.

On the bus, there were these 2 girls behind me.
Being a busybody, I overheard their conversation, though I didn’t take much effort since their voices were not the softest to begin with.
What’s interesting was that they were talking about were 2 interesting issues, Love and Serving National Service.
Love, to them, was about being there for somebody. There’s nothing wrong with that, Hell No. But, it was for the wrong reasons. According to their logic, it is important for the girl to stay faithful, even if the guy was in the wrong.
Wrong, very wrong.
The guy committed offenses. Everything discussed wasn’t that clear, but I did overheard that the guy stole, and escaped serving NS.

Yes. You heard right.

Why is it that people needs to escape from serving National Service. If you are a male, able-bodied, you can at least endure 2 years of training. Your physical well-being, general health would probably improve, make new friends, learn about weapons and experience things that males from other parts of the world would never have (less countries with compulsory NS). Though the trade-off includes having less time / freedom / and risking the relationship you may have, amongst others.

Back to the girls’ conversation. Anyway, they were sharing about who knows more people who have tried to evade doing NS. Guys who has done so were praised for their action (talk about nonsensical), and they were even comparing whether the punishments given were appropriate.

Well. Before I could probe further, I reached my stop. Would have liked to stayed a little longer. Obvious isn’t it.
Before I sign off, should I just mention that the school they go to reads I (blank) E. Make conclusions yourself. And, I am very disappointed with the response for the quiz.

Every one of us probably has this little part in you, who want to become a celebrity one day. Be it getting chased around town by paparazzi reporters all days, where the public idolize your every haircut and you are worshipped by fans, all the giant posters, light sticks and fan clubs.

Well, these days, it is probably much easier then before.

With every TV channel offering us numerous opportunities to become the NEXT BIG THING in the celebrity world. Chances are aplenty, as long as you are willing to take the risk, endure potential long queue and weather conditions, you have taken the first steps towards stardom.

Today, let us look at Campus Superstar.

10 boys & girls, studying in secondary schools / junior colleges / ITEs are competing to fulfill their dreams of stardom. Every week, a pair of boy and gal gets eliminated, either due to his/her failing to out-perform the rest of the field, or the fact that he/she received the least amount of SMS votes. This goes on until the final 2 emerge.

However, let me point out a few interesting points…

First, amongst the 20 contestants on the show, some are from the more ACADEMICAL and PROMINENT schools, namely Hwa Chong Institution, Victoria Junior College, Raffles Institution & Dunman High School. Who say nerds are not talented?

Next, some of them have a problem choosing the right song to sing. For instance, choose something that reflect your age. During your teen years, you actually have to endure several painful break-ups?? At your age, you sing about turning old, regretting mistakes you have made before… Please…sing something bubbly, youthful… who’s the most guilty, probably her….even the judges felt that she should sing something 13, not 30..

Thirdly, are we seeing double?? First, it’s a pair of twins… then, you realize that most of the rest of the contestants kinda look the same, the hair , the hand signs … see for yourselves.

Finally, why do every male contestant either wear something military-influenced, or match his pink/red shirt with a white jacket. Why, why, why??? Is that how Metro-sexual is being portrayed?? And, get rid of all the thick, white/black/red/whatever framed spectacles. For god sake..

Ohh.

Before I forget, got to mention this, if not, I would not forgive myself.

This little guy here…
What’s the name…yes…Samuel Tan.

Why do you have to act cute on stage all the time?
Why do you have to swing your head, left / right and centre whenever the camera focus on you?
And, is PINK your favourite colour?
No wonder you can’t make the final…

And,

I happen to be an ex-student of NYJC…Damn.

Anyway, Good Luck to all the contestants, may the best wins, and my support mainly goes to the female contestants, whom I think can sing much better, perform with better renditions of the songs, and generally out-shine every single male contestants there is…
Especially this 3 gals…. One’s spunky, one’s pretty, one’s a great singer.

Who say I am not bias.. (i didn't included any other male contestants' pics)

As a result of my (vacations) work commitments, i would most likely update this blog probaby once a week for the next couple of weeks...

Meantime, enjoy the next posts.
